Life is beautiful - this is the message of Thierry Guetta, currently the most famous street art artist besides Banksy, who calls himself Mr. Brainwash and whose works have been conquering the art world around the globe for several years.
The Frenchman, who lives in Los Angeles and is an enthusiastic videographer, became world-famous for his award winning documentary "Exit Through the Gift Shop", in which Mr. Brainwash accompanies his friend Banksy at work. This also brought him into the street art scene and began to create art. From then on Mr. Brainwash was a phenomenon, a superstar who conquered the art world in record time.
His first two solo exhibitions in Los Angeles in 2008 and New York in 2010 attracted several thousand visitors and were completely sold out after a few days. In 2016, the artist had his first equally successful museum show in Seoul, Korea. Numerous stars are loyal collectors, including Rihanna and Madonna, for whom he has already designed a CD cover.
Works by Mr. Brainwash are also successful at auctions and repeatedly achieve prices far beyond estimates. The previous record was in October 2010 with $ 120,000 at Phillips de Pury in London for a work with the Einstein motif.
GALERIE FRANK FLUEGEL, located in Nuremberg and Kitzbühel, focuses on high-quality originals of Pop Art such as Andy Warhol, Tom Wesselmann, Keith Haring, Mr. Brainwash, BAMBI, Roy Lichtenstein, Julian Opie, James Rosenquist, Alex Katz or Mel Ramos. There are also works by Pablo Picasso, Alec Monopoly, Gerhard Richter and Basquiat on offer. Exhibitions take place every two months in the centrally located shops in Nuremberg and Kitzbühel. International trade fair participations round off the programme.
